Apologies for the lack of updates. This has definitely not been because of a lack of paddling sweet runs but more due to my own slackness. However it has been a busy while of work now! The kayak school has had an amazing summer and I have been on a lot of amazing trips both with work and personal!
I made the long trek up to the Stikine a few weeks ago. I left very much undecided in my mind. I had not really seriously considered this run this season until Mikkel mentioned it a week or two before we ended up leaving. It is for sure something I have set myself a goal to do and spent a lot of time thinking about it.
We got to the put in at the highway bridge next to the infamous sign. I could not come to a confident decision to put on so I decided not to and hung out with Lianne driving shuttle.
It almost seemed like all the stars had aligned, awesome crew, low water level (unknown low mind you), great weather and great forecast! I just did not feel mentally prepared for the commitment of this run at the time and I am happy with the decision I made. Def a solid goal for the not to distant future!
A bunch of great trips to BC and one of my favorite runs the Yoho Canyon, which I shamefully left my GoPro in the car for....
All in all it has been an epic summer thus far. The weather here in Alberta and BC has not been very summery but all the same it has been a sick paddling season and with unusual amounts of fall rain we are receiving at the moment two of our local runs are back up and running..sick!! Here is some sweet photos from the past couple of months!!!
Enjoy....
